Yiquan Wang

Dr. Yiquan Wang is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida studying the co‑evolution of viruses and the immune system through integrative experimental and AI‑driven computational approaches. His research focuses on understanding sequence‑structure‑function relationships in viral evolution and antibody specificity to advance predictive models with applications in vaccine and therapeutic design. Wang’s interdisciplinary work bridges immunology, virology, structural biology, and machine learning. Beyond science, he is also an accomplished artist with a strong interest in painting and design, and has received recognition in art competitions including the Art of Science Image Contest (2024) and “Life Inspiring” art competition (second place, 2023).

Dr. Yiquan Wang Lab’ s research integrates high-throughput virology and immunology experiments with artificial intelligence to understand and predict virus–immune co-evolution. By combining deep mutational scanning, next-generation sequencing, and foundation models, Wang Lab studies how evolutionary constraints shape viral fitness, antigenic drift, and antibody specificity, with the goal of enabling predictive vaccine and therapeutic design.
