Master’s Degree Graduation Checklist

Here is everything that will be needed in order to graduate in your final semester.

  1. Final Semester Master’s Thesis Checklist
  2. Final Exam/Defense Preparation:
    • Check with Chance Dyer (chancedyer@ufl.edu) about room availability and the Program Director’s, Dr. Jörg Bungert, schedule.
    • The following items are needed for creation and distribution of the Final Defense announcement:
      • Title of your research
      • Date of your final exam
      • Location of your final exam
      • Headshot
  3. Fill out the online Alumni form for Biochemistry

Deadlines

Graduate students are responsible for meeting all published deadlines. The Graduate School sends reminders of all critical dates to graduate student UF business e-mail accounts via the Graduate Student Listserv. All graduate students are responsible for complying with the deadlines identified in these messages as well as those published in the Academic Calendar.

Thesis

For students, the Editorial Office oversees the thesis process, offering guidance to ensure all graduate students’ theses meet UF’s high standards and are ready for electronic submission and digital archiving with the UF Libraries.


Doctoral Degree Graduation Checklist

The semester you plan to graduate you will need to begin completing the following checklist and additional steps below:

  1. Check with Chance Dyer (chancedyer@ufl.edu) about room availability and the Program Directors’, Dr. Matthew Merritt and Dr. Craig Vander Kooi, schedules.
  2. The following items are needed for creation and distribution of the Final Defense announcement:
    • Title of your research
    • Date of your final exam
    • Location of your final exam
    • The name of your escort
    • Headshot
  3. Contact Amanda Shaffer (ashaffer@ufl.edu) to confirm your graduate assistantship end date.
  4. Send Chance Dyer a PDF copy of your dissertation, after it has been given Final Clearance from the editorial office. She will have a bound copy made for the department and your mentor (any extra copies will be at your expense).
  5. Fill out the online Alumni form for Biochemistry
  6. Fill out the online Alumni form for BMS
