Graduation Checklist

Master’s Degree Graduate Checklist

The semester you plan to graduate you will need to begin completing the checklist below at the beginning of the semester. Below is helpful information that will assist you to stay on track during your final term:

  1. Check with Graduate Administrator, Teresa White, about the availability of the conference room and also the Department Chair’s schedule before you schedule your final exam. Do not schedule your final exam on a UF holiday.
  2. Send Graduate Administrator your title and date of final exam and she will prepare your forms.
  3. Fill out the online Alumni form for Biochemistry
  4. Email Graduate Administrator (teresawhite@ufl.edu) your title, time and location of your final exam. She will publicize the seminar by email.

Deadlines

Graduate students are responsible for meeting all published deadlines. The Graduate School sends reminders of all critical dates to graduate student UF business e-mail accounts via the Graduate Student Listserv. All graduate students are responsible for complying with the deadlines identified in these messages as well as those published in the Academic Calendar.

Thesis

For students, the Editorial Office oversees the thesis process, offering guidance to ensure all graduate students’ theses meet UF’s high standards and are ready for electronic submission and digital archiving with the UF Libraries.


Doctoral Degree Graduate Checklist

  1. Check with  Graduate Administrator about the availability of the conference room and also the Department Chair’s schedule before you schedule your final exam. Do not schedule your final exam on a UF holiday.
  2. Send Graduate Administrator your title and date of final exam and she will prepare your forms. Also let her know who your escort will be at commencement so that she can enter the information in the system.
  3. Contact Sara Williams (swilliams13@ufl.edu), Human Resources, to confirm your graduate assistantship end date.
  4. Send Graduate Administrator (teresawhite@ufl.edu) confirmation of your title, time and location of your final exam. She will supply refreshments for the seminar, and also publicize the seminar by email.
  5. Send Director of Administrative Services, LaWanna Duncan (lawanna@ufl.edu), a PDF copy of your dissertation, after it has been given Final Clearance from the editorial office. She will have a bound copy made for the department and your mentor (any extra copies will be at your expense).  The cost is $50.00.
  6. Fill out the online Alumni form for Biochemistry
