About ZHIPENG LI
Dr. Li’s work focuses on lipid metabolism and cell death. And how cancer cells rewire their metabolic network to cope with various stress conditions and escape death. Recently, these two general interests have been merged into a newly defined cell death pathway called ferroptosis, an iron-dependent, regulated cell death caused by the excessive accumulation of lipid damage on membranes. His lab will continue to investigate the mechanisms underlying ferroptosis vulnerability in cancer cells and how selenium protects cells from oxidative stress.
